Exactly one month ago today, Sarah and Jakob was married by her grandfather in a lovely little church, surrounded by their family and friends. They are such a beautiful couple, and the love they have for each other is truly moving.
I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me if I would like to be their photographer, and when the day finally arrived I was equally excited and nervous. It is the first proper wedding I have ever photographed, as the first one was a surprise wedding, and they didn’t want the traditional pictures of the two of them, but this time I had plenty of time to play around with the beautiful couple in a very charming location. Photographing on location with what feels like all the time in the world, and photographing an event is two very different things. In a wedding ceremony everything moves so fast, and you only get one chance to get it right. And as a photographer you want it to be perfect. I have decided not to share any of the pictures from the ceremony, as I find it to be something very private, but I’m very excited to share these pictures from the location with you!
Being a part of someone’s wedding it truly special. You are trying to be invisible, and catch all the right moments for the newlyweds to look back on, but at the same time it’s impossible not to be touched by the love and beauty that is taking place right in front of you. It would be a lie to say that I didn’t have to hold back a tear or two during the ceremony. It’s so obvious that this couple really love each other, and that they are deeply in love. Photographing them on their big day was such a wonderful experience.
