Last Saturday was kind of special. I photographed my very first wedding, and the guests had no idea that the couple was getting married! They have already been together for more than a decade and have three beautiful girls, so there is no wonder why they were able to surprise everyone! Their guests were thrilled, and it was a beautiful, intimate ceremony outside in the sunshine. I had such a lovely time with this challange, and I really loved photographing their big day, so I wanted to share a few pictures of this gorgeous couple with you.
The sky was like a giant soft box, so I got to work with really beautiful light. I was quite nervous about this little job, and was really surprised as to how much fun I ended up having. Challanges like this one makes me evaulate how I feel about my work, and the constant changes in the way I'm photographing. Everything feels so much more natural and easy to me than it did only a year ago and I have learned to trust my gut feeling, not my anxiety about not being talented enough. I believe in constantly challanging my skills because my experience is that no real growth happens in the comfort zone, and I'm prepared to do what it takes to become a great photographer.
