I’m easily seduced by aesthetics. I’m drawn to colour, shape and patterns, and a lot of my inspiration comes from these things. It might sounds silly, but surrounding myself with things that are aesthetically appealing to me actually makes me work harder, feel more inspired and fuels my passion for what I’m doing. This week, a lot of new projects are starting up, and one of my favourite ways to mentally prepare for them, is to get new notebooks (yes, I’m totally smitten with Moleskine, no reason to try to hide it). I love saving my favourite articles and pictures from magazines, so I can use them for cover collages like these (Stine Goya, Hanneli Mustaparta and The Royal Theatre). I’m starting the internship at the Royal Ballet, studying for my master thesis, and redesigning and making plans for my little corner of the internet and I though I’d share some of it with you throughout the year!
Interning at the Royal Ballet is a dream come true for me, and working side by side with people I look up to makes me a bit star struck sometimes. I’m right there with wonderful, talented people that are working in a field that I think is highly important for us as a society. I feel very honoured (and a bit proud) to get this wonderful opportunity and my excitement levels are high. The events I’m taking part in developing is going to be launched in October, and if you are in Copenhagen, come visit!
Fashion as Identity and Marker of Social Status is the working title on my master thesis, and even though I’m starting it in March, I’m too exited to not begin my research. March will be a good month because I’m going to Paris for a couple of weeks around Fashion Week, to do research, interviews and share all my Paris secrets with you! If any of you have insider tips as to where to stay for an extended period, or interesting people (either connected to the fashion industry, or with strong opinions on fashion), please let me know!
Morning Projects is growing, and that demands a new design to parts of the site, which probably will be launched in the beginning of September. I’m also working on new projects to feature, so if you have feedback or ideas I would love to hear!
Just looking at these three books, my heart is beating a little faster. A year ago I felt completely lost in terms of future, plans and ambition, but after a class on happiness by one of the best professors I have ever had, my outlook changed. I decided on a plan of action, and this little blog is a huge part of it. Cultivating a lot of happiness by giving me an excuse to actually follow through with my ideas and do what I want with my life. I love the academic part of me, but this whole other things has been on pause for years, and having it back has spiked my ambitions in life to a level where I’m seriously scared of falling down from. Combining the two is really exiting, and I’m looking so much forward to writing my master thesis. Hope you are all finding some inspiration and internal fuel for the next semester or chapter of your lives. It feels good to flourish!
