Earlier this year, I met up with this gorgeous girl. She was my best friend through primary school until her family moved away, and I was left heartbroken. We sporadically kept in touch, but this year we decided to meet. I was nervous and thrilled, wondering what she would be like after all the years we spent apart. Turns out we both had changed quite a bit, and moved in surprisingly similar directions despite that our lives are very different. She is a wife and mother of two, while I’m recently single with a greater heartache than I have ever felt, and living on my own in a big city. Although our lives have brought us different circumstances, we are still so much alike that it feels like we were never apart in the first place. We share all these wonderful things that we had together in the past, and our interests, humour and outlook on life brings us even closer now.
This summer I went for a visit, a sleep over. We figured one day would not be enough time, which was of course right. Leaving on the second day I was already missing her! I got to meet her family, including their wonderful dog that I fell completely in love with, just look at his gorgeous little face!
Silje and I are both bloggers, so there is no way getting around taking a few (or a lot, actually) pictures, and we had so much fun! You can read her blog right here. We are equally crazy and silly, which made the whole things quite hilarious. In a couple of hours we took close to 500 pictures, of each other and together, and I couldn’t resist sharing a few of them here.
Mean girls? I would rather say silly girls...
We also worked on some ‘real’ photo stuff, which was quite difficult because we were filled with silly laughter and both couldn’t stop smiling.
This little tribute to our friendship is simply motivated by the joy of having this girl back in my life. I got her back, and I’m not letting go again. From warm summer days, I hope that we will have beautiful autumn memories together this year.
