A couple of weeks ago, I brought this babe to Norway. We went swimming, hiked, ran, talked, drank a lot of gin lemons and soaked up some glorious sun. Much needed vacation and time together. She is moving to New York very soon, and I honestly feel a bit heartbroken about it. Perfect excuse to go to New York though. We had five wonderful days in the sun, which had to result in this picture heavy post. We went swimming the night we got in, and woke up the next morning and went straight into the water again. Perfect way to wake up, and followed by a huge, indulgent breakfast (my mom makes the best scrambled eggs with lots of chives) before going hiking. Stopping for a coffee and chocolate break might just be my favourite part.
After the hike, we were ready for dinner and cocktails. Jane and I bough some really delicious gin on our way to Norway, and made blueberry infused gin lemon. So good. Totally improvised. We didn’t have any ice cubes for our first round of drinks, but my mom had a bag of blueberries she picked last summer, so we used them in stead and it turned out to be delicious. Giving it a Scandinavian twist obviously didn’t hurt.
Going swimming twice every day and braving the cold water really did me good. I’m so happy that Jane came to Norway with me. Writing this I’m melting away in my apartment in Copenhagen wishing that I could go jump in the lake. Hope you are all finding ways to survive this heat, it will do us good and make us appreciate September when it comes with colder winds.
