Spending the summer in Copenhagen is something that I have done only once since I moved here almost five years ago, so although I’m getting a little restless for travelling, I try to enjoy my days in the city before I leave. Most of my friends are still here, and actually having time to relax and enjoy each other’s company without having a deadline constantly lurking in your sub conscience feels nice. Jane and I have known each other for years, and last week her sister Anne and friend Nicole came to Copenhagen, and we decided to go on a day trip to Møns Klint at the Southern edge of Denmark. Road trip, sun, great playlists and four photo fanatic girls = recipe for success.
After buying lots of food and struggling a little with the GPS we went on our way, eating chips, strawberries and peas in the car. When we got there we found a spot to have lunch, and after styling the picnic blanket a little (#instagram #addicts) we sat down to enjoy everything we brought!
After a nice long lunch on the beach, we went on exploring a little and when this big rock appeared in the water the most obvious thing to do, was to make a little mermaid impression. That is, the modern interpretation: two little mermaids! Although we might look calm and elegant, getting onto, staying on and getting down from the rock proved to be quite challenging. Super slippery conditions, sharp rocks and cold water. I even cut the sole of my foot climbing onto it, so freakin’ painful! But well, we got the shot on the rock, right?
Anne stayed on land and looked after all our camera gear. Beautiful girl!
All day trips should end with having an ice cream while the sun sets, and that is just what we did. We found this little ice cream shop in Dragør on our way home that make their own cones, and they were incredibly good. So good in fact, that I was distracted and didn’t even think about taking a picture of it till it was almost too late.
I love living in Copenhagen, but getting out of the city and going on a little trip to the countryside is great. Especially when the car is full of gorgeous and funny girls. I had such a good time getting to know Anne and Nicole, exploring Møn and having what might be the best outdoor lunch so far this year. Looking forward to more days like this.
