I must say I have been a little obsessed with waffles ever since I got a waffle iron for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Anyone that has entered my apartment since then has been serves waffles, and I have worked on so many different recipes that I haven’t been able to decide which one to post yet, so I thought I would ask you!
All these wonderful recipes are great for different reasons and perfect with different kinds of toppings. I decided to do a month without sugar (in the middle of finishing my exams. Not a great idea, I must admit), as I was so addicted I felt like I didn’t control it anymore and felt like restarting my system. Therefore, I have been working on creative ways to keep my hands off any added sugar. So I made this:
Banana pancakes with homemade peanut butter, pistachios and banana. So incredible good! Sweet from the bananas, not any added sugar. But because they are so sweet, my sweet little plan failed, and they still left me craving chocolate and all other kinds of sweet stuff, and I decided to make a low-carb variety with nut flour that would not leave me craving sugar.
LCHF-waffles with lime infused Greek yoghurt, rhubarb and blackberries. Leaves you full for a lot longer than the banana pancakes, and is therefore a great breakfast alternative. Both of there varieties are a little out of the ordinary, and if these kinds of tastes don’t appeal to you, a classic waffle might be what you want. I made them in two varieties.
Wholegrain waffles with creme cheese, spring onion and pepper. So good (and extra delicious with bacon as a little weekend treat).
The classic waffle with wonderful cardamom topped with creme cheese, strawberries and plums and a little liquorice powder. Which recipes would you like to see here on the blog when I have dug myself out from under the pile of exam deadlines? Maybe a post with all of them?! Have a great day!
