Look up cliché in the dictionary, and it will tell you something like “A very predictable or unoriginal thing or person.” I’m not one to shy away from something, on the foundation that it might be perceived as being cliché, so when Preben called me for my advice on a shoot he was planning, I might have given some support on just going for it. We came to the conclusion that being afraid of being perceived a certain way is no reason to dismiss a really great idea.
Beautiful, flowery scenery combined with a gorgeous, masculine male model might sound quite cliché, but there is a reason why things gain that status, and it doesn’t need to be a bad thing. During the shoot, I took a few pictures in between counting the developing time on the polaroids, and although neither beautiful flowers or masculine lines are quite original, the beauty is striking! I mean, just look at this.
From magnifiscent pink to soothing blue. The forest floor was covered in these tiny, blue flowers, and after something that feels like an eternal winter, my heart beats a little faster when being in the middle of spring, and assisting on this kind of shoot really makes me happy!
Photographer hard at work in beautiful scenery.
This last week has been so full of sunshine, and it really does something to my mood. The number of smiles on the faces of strangers has increased dramatically, more people are on their bikes and summer shoes are out. No wonder why sun is so crucial for human happiness (at least the hedonic kind). I will enjoy every last bit of it before the rain catches up with us.
