Anyone who has spent time with me the past few weeks are already painfully aware of the fact that I’m completely smitten with Hasselblad. I must admit that I have talked a lot about it lately. And by a lot, I mean A LOT. After the shoot I have been super inpatient waiting for my negatives to be ready to scan. After receiving the first batch I got more nervous than exited, as I had calculated the light quite wrong, and the shadows were super sharp. Quite disappointed to be honest.
But then the negatives from the 120mm film returned, and they are all perfectly exposed. No sharp, black shadows and a lot of beautiful details in both the dark and light areas. I have learned so much from this shoot, both about photography and about myself. When I see all the little mistakes I made, in what way I focused my attention wrong and what details I missed, I can see a really clear way forward from this point.
This was my very first real shoot, and I’m both a little disappointed and quite proud at the same time. I’m ready to take this to the next level, and I’m so lucky to have Preben’s critical and loving comments to help me improve.
These three pictures are completely raw, almost still warm from the scanner. I’m looking forward to see them on paper and work on making them even more beautiful! Rikke’s hair looks like silver and I’m totally crazy about it. It looks so gorgeously soft and I absolutely love that there are so many different shades of grey in the pictures. Using the external light meter worked really well. I really like that you can see the details in her skin and hair.
Just look at how gorgeous this girl is.
