I’m a collector, and my apartment tells a lot of little stories about me because of it. Leaving home very young to go to school, and moving to a foreign country when I was only 19 has left me with an urge to surround myself with things that makes the place I live feel like home. I don't know if that explains my obsession with pillows, but yes I use all of them and of course I need every single one of them. Your bed should be your personal little paradise. Simple! It’s a combination of furniture, little details and routines that tie every stage of my life together, and I love having the new things compliment the ones that have been in my home as a child. I don’t have a lot of stuff, but I love the things I have (except for a couple of items I can’t wait to throw out when I have my first grown up job and can afford to buy something new and beautiful)! I want to show you a few details from my apartment, so here are a few of my favourite things:
Alternative storage space is key and I love my little succulent family. A collection of books and a little chestnut from a friend’s pocket accompanies the antlers perfectly (and the sad looking unattractive dog has always been in our home. Weird little cutie). A friend gave me the antlers this summer, and they are just perfect for underlining the autumn feeling I love so muchl. I’m nuts about the combination of these green and red shades together these days. Succulents and pomegranates are big favourites.
My home office desk that I bought the week before I started my Bachelor degree, decorated by a picture by one of my favourite photographers, a tiny frog I inherited from my grandmother and a little baby tree I got for my birthday (it’s a branch from his tree, so lovely). Jewellery favourites, Ladurée boxes and my grandfather’s watch next to old and new makeup favourites, RUNE necklaces and my grandmother and grandfather. I love looking at that picture. Who cares if my parents are divorces when I had them to look up to for life long love and companionship? Simply wonderful.
Succulent babies, provocative photography and internship perks! Great, big (almost 2m!!) poster I put in my bedroom. Gorgeous colours, gorgeous photograph, gorgeous body (inspiration)!
Having the opportunity to change the little details with the seasons is something I really like, and I’ve been more than happy to change these beautiful hydrangeas (by far my favourite flower!) with gorgeous blood read pomegranates. I grew up in a home filled with flowers, and having little trees and succulent accompanied by freshly cut beauties is something that really reminds me of my mother. Already looking forward to tulip season! But out with the gorgeous summer flowers, autumn is really getting under my skin and I think I might like it!
